Stand Up Paddle Boarding
(SUP)
It’s all the rage! The latest crazy paddlesport
to paddle its way across the pond is Stand Up PaddleBoarding
(SUP).
Standing on a large wide and relatively stable surf
board, equipped with a particularly long handled one bladed
paddle, you can propel yourself along the broads whilst getting a
bird’s eye view of your surroundings.
The boards are easy to propel and from a standing
position you get an excellent view into the water.
Unsurprisingly you need to be prepared to get wet, even those with
a great sense of balance can often be dunked by an unexpected
collision with the bank or another paddleboarder. Therefore
a towel and a change of clothes is essential.
You will be supplied with a board, paddle, buoyancy
aid, wetsuit and boots (it is recommended that you wear either a
swimming costume or thin thermals underneath). If you have
never done it before then join one of our evening classes with our
coach, Rich, or alternatively if you have suitable experience or
qualifications then you can just hire the equipment from our shop
in Wroxham.
